I find myself getting more and more addicted to podcasts. They have been around for years now but it’s only just I’ve truly found myself enjoying them. I usually listen using my iPhone and download any interesting ones I may find. Whilst listening back to one of Stephen Fry’s Podgrams I noticed it was a video and I wasn’t really interested in watching the video so I hit the lock button on my iPhone which turned the screen off. This then paused the video.
I then discovered through a bit of playing that if you use the double tap of the home button to bring up the iPod controls whilst on the unlock screen you can play the video podcast again the the video will stay on the image it was paused on. You can then turn the screen off and the sound will carry on.
This may be a bug or a glitch but it’s very useful for me because it means my battery will last

That is a handy hack… although I don’t know how often it would be when you download a video podcast and decide you only want to listen to the audio.
Well, it’s true zzap but I found myself working as I listened to a few comedy video podcasts and not watching the video!
